Cleaning method for scaling of water-cooled chillers

In the production process of factories, many refrigeration units use water-cooled chillers. The internal pipe walls of water-cooled chillers' condensers are prone to scale formation, which can affect heat transfer efficiency, increase the condensing temperature of the unit, and ultimately reduce refrigeration capacity and increase power consumption. The cleaning of water-cooled chiller condenser is divided into physical cleaning and chemical cleaning:

Chemical cleaning: If the scale is hard scale, chemical cleaning should be carried out as physical methods cannot remove the scale. In order to optimize the operation of the condenser, it is necessary to carry out specialized chemical treatment on the condenser, remove scale, rust, mud, sterilize and prevent corrosion, and restore it to a clean metal surface.

Physical cleaning: Generally, high-pressure water jet is used to clean the dirt on the copper pipes of the condenser;

Cleaning steps for water-cooled chiller condenser:

1. Tighten the valves for cooling water entering and exiting the condenser, and connect the anti-corrosion pump and distribution tank to a small circulation system using thermometer tubes, pressure gauge tubes, or drain pipes for cleaning.

2. First, add acid pickling corrosion inhibitor, which is a specialized copper corrosion inhibitor that adheres to the metal inner wall of the condenser to prevent acid from reacting with the metal.

3. Add solid acid cleaning agent for cleaning scale mainly composed of calcium carbonate scale. The cleaning agent is a composite solid organic acid, white crystal, non corrosive to metals, and a weak acid; The amount of cleaning agent used depends on the amount of equipment scaling.

4. Add a mud scale stripping agent (optional). If the condenser equipment has thick scale, it is necessary to add a mud scale stripping agent to promote the rapid dissolution of the products after the scale reaction in water and accelerate the deep scale reaction. 5. Add neutralizing and passivating agents, and after chemical cleaning of the condenser, neutralize the residual acid to prevent the metal surface from oxidizing and generating secondary floating rust.
